We are New Zealanders who love France and spend 6 months each year cruising the canals on our Dutch steel cruiser, Silver Fern, and enjoying all that Europe has to offer. And maybe the odd vin.

Great to discover your blog! (Courtesy of Jackie Parry posting a link to it!) Nice to see some fellow Christchurch people out there doing it!
I am the President of a cruising club called the Little Ship Club of Canterbury. We have regular speakers talking about all things nautical and I was wondering if you might be keen to come over and talk to our group some time about cruising the canals? I am still looking for someone in April or May if you are still around then? We meet at Naval Point Club in Lyttelton, and have the bar open. We usually get about 50-60 ish people come along. There is a big TV you can plug your computer in. Most people do a slide show and a talk about their cruising experiences. You can read more about the club and what we get up to on our website. Feel free to come along to any of our events and see what it is all about.
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers

Hi Viki, thanks for your message and following canalboatdreaming I’ll be following your blog with interest too. Your boating is a little more serious than mine!
I’ll have a think about your offer to speak to your group. I’m not sure when we will be leaving for our next trip and it might be a bit tight time-wise but thanks so much for asking.
Cheers
Karen
